Vintage 14K Gold Turquoise Blue Stone Teardrop Dangle Earrings

Elegant vintage dangle earrings featuring elongated turquoise-blue teardrop stones suspended beneath carved four-lobed blue beads and polished yellow-gold ball studs. The stones display subtle natural-looking color variation, inclusions and matrix-like veining, giving each earring its own character.

All accessible gold-colored metal components were acid tested by the seller and tested in the 14K gold range. The posts themselves are unmarked. The butterfly backs are slightly different from one another, suggesting one may be a replacement; marked 14K, and both tested in the 14K range.

The exact identity and treatment of the blue material has not been professionally verified. Testing and examination are consistent with a stone/mineral-based material, but it could be stabilized, treated or composite/reconstituted turquoise, dyed/stabilized howlite or magnesite, or a similar turquoise-blue material. Presidium testing was inconclusive. Acetone produced no visible color transfer, although slight surface tackiness was observed. Therefore the stones are not being represented as confirmed natural turquoise.
