The Teaser Puzzle, c1930s, E&S, No.74.
A good example of a card puzzle called The Teaser Puzzle that looks to date from the 1930s. It is in its original Box that states Few Solve It – It Can Be Done – Watch Your Wits…… The box measures 4” x 3¼” x 5/8”. It has a card insert inside with printed segments and there are card pieces that need to be laid out as directed on the lid. You then need to slide the pieces (NOT lift them) to move the large square from the start to the finish. This is really difficult! Luckily – the very specific solution is printed on the underside of the lid. It was made in England by E&S., and must be part of a series – or at least a range of items as the box also has the number 74. The box shows minor signs of handling but it is in very good clean condition for its age.
