The artwork captures a stylized, classic mid-century homage to traditional Hawaiian royalty, hula dancers, a chief in a feather cloak (‘Ahu ‘ula) and helmet (Mahiole), and island abundance.

Wartime Liner Provenance: The program explicitly notes that the menus used for this civic event were “Programs courtesy of Matson Navigation Co. (S.S. Lurline & S.S. Matsonia to Hawaii) (S.S. Mariposa & S.S. Monterey to South Pacific).” It also documents printing by Bank of America N.T. & S.A. and complimentary Rosé wine provided courtesy of Almaden Vineyards.

Historical Guest Speakers: The program outline lists notable California political figures as guest speakers, including U.S. Representative William S. Mailliard and U.S. Representative John F. Shelley presenting on "San Francisco—Present and Future."
