A carved wooden sculpture of a stylized antelope with a deep well handled surface patina, that was traditionally worn atop the head on a basketry cap. 

Danced in agricultural festivals and other ceremonial events. Bamana / Bambara peoples, Mali, Africa. 

The sculpture measures 19.5 x 10.25 inches.
