Vintage Bakelite Novelty Working Compass Fob Brooch Pin
Era: Circa 1930s.
Composition: Beautifully aged "Cinnamon" brownish-red Bakelite. Designed as a multi-part fob assembly featuring a smooth, circular medallion tethered to a matching cylindrical bar toggle via an original, braided black cloth cord. The cord is accented with a ribbed metallic brass spacer slide band.
Functional Centerpiece: Deeply flush-inset miniature brass-rimmed working novelty directional navigation compass. The white compass dial face contains crisp, stylized gold and black lettering tracking N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, and NW parameters, complete with its original active directional needle under a clean lens.
Hardware: Traditional early safety pin joint and open C-hook catch assembly firmly mounted flush to the back of the top cylindrical toggle bar resin.
Dimensions: Approximately 1 1/2 inches wide (circular medallion) by 2 1/4 inches long (total hanging length).
