Billy Rankin – Shake Signed CD Album with Handwritten Personal Note – Rare 1999 UK Hard Rock Release
A scarce signed copy of Shake, the third and final solo studio album by Scottish guitarist, singer and songwriter Billy Rankin, best known for his work with legendary Scottish hard rock band Nazareth.
Originally released in the UK in 1999 under catalogue number SHAKE001, this independently issued album can be difficult to find in any condition. This particular copy is especially collectible as the gold-coloured CD has been personally signed and decorated by Billy Rankin.
Also included is a separate handwritten and signed note addressed to Barry, reading:
“Hey Barry, Bass Players? Oi Shit ’em!”
The note carries a large additional Billy Rankin signature in blue ink. It is humorous, personal and full of character, making this a particularly unusual piece of British rock memorabilia.
Billy Rankin joined Nazareth in 1980 and appeared on albums including Snaz, 2XS and Sound Elixir. He later rejoined the group and contributed to No Jive and Move Me. His solo career included the albums Growin’ Up Too Fast, Crankin’ and Shake. Rankin describes Shake as his third and final solo album.
