EA Technology UltraTEV – Partial Discharge / Condition Monitoring Tester
Selling my EA Technology UltraTEV as I’m upgrading to a newer model.
I’m actually going to miss this bit of kit.
I’m an electrician by trade and have spent a lot of my working life around industrial electrical systems, substations, transformers, MCCs and HV/LV switchgear. One thing I’ve become more interested in over the years is finding problems before they become failures, rather than waiting until something trips or lets the smoke out!
That’s where the UltraTEV comes in.
For me, this is the sort of instrument that belongs in an electrician or maintenance engineer’s walk-around kit.
The UltraTEV gives you another tool to help identify partial discharge activity within electrical equipment, particularly switchgear, so you can investigate something that is starting to deteriorate before it develops into a bigger problem.
That’s what preventative/predictive maintenance is all about for me — not just ticking boxes, but actually trying to understand the condition of the equipment.
I think this would be a great bit of kit for an industrial electrician, maintenance electrician, HV engineer, reliability engineer or somebody wanting to get more involved in condition-based maintenance.
It works nicely alongside things like thermal imaging and normal visual/condition inspections.
Reason for selling: I’m upgrading to a newer model. If I wasn’t upgrading, I’d be keeping it.
Comes in the hard protective case with charger/accessories shown in the photographs.
Please study the pictures as they form part of the description and show exactly what is included and the condition.
I’d genuinely rather see it go to another electrician or engineer who will put it to use than have it sitting on a shelf.
