‘MESSED MESH AMBITIONS’ is a media project exploring and discussing *Ghost in the Shell*, currently running as a serialised feature on the official *Ghost in the Shell* global website.

Each instalment centres on a specific theme, presenting a special feature that is then compiled into a cohesive body of work.

For this publication, with the cooperation of university professors and researchers who have contributed to the project, we have compiled the previously published feature articles—enriched with new illustrations and other visual material—into a single volume.

The editor in charge is Yohei Kawada, an editor who has directed publications such as Gen Hoshino’s *YELLOW MAGAZINE*, the para-sports graphic magazine *GO Journal* (supervised by Mika Ninagawa), and the culture magazine *STUDIO VOICE*.

The result is a substantial volume of over 600 pages.
