⚠️ Important — about the tele (70mm) lens
On the TF-500D, the tele lens group retracts down inside the body, where
its rear surface sits exposed to the air. Because of that design,
almost every surviving TF-500D has some haze on the tele group.
It is a characteristic of the model rather than a fault of this particular
camera.
I have not been able to inspect the tele group on this specific body,
so I cannot confirm its condition. Please assume there may be haze on the
tele side and buy accordingly. The price reflects this.
The 35mm (wide) position uses a separate optical path and is not affected.
A quietly excellent dual-lens compact — a sharp 35mm f/2.8 for everyday
shooting and a 70mm for portraits, in a body that still slips into a coat
pocket. It has built a real following among film shooters.

Powers up correctly. The shutter fires, autofocus operates, the flash fires, and the wide / tele switch works. Film advance and rewind both work.

The cleaning guide
I worked out a way to reach the rear surface of the tele lens group without
taking the camera apart, and I include an illustrated guide showing how. It is a
simple job with a cotton swab and anhydrous ethanol, and it usually makes a clear
difference. Haze on an inner surface cannot be reached this way.
