ANA Flying Pikachu — Japanese Old Back Promo
This listing features the Japanese Flying Pikachu (そらをとぶピカチュウ) LV.12 / No.025, a vintage promotional Pokémon card distributed through an All Nippon Airways (ANA) campaign in Japan.
Featuring artwork by Toshinao Aoki, Pikachu is shown soaring through the sky with colorful balloons while an airplane flies in the background.
This version can be distinguished from the other well-known ANA Flying Pikachu artwork by its LV.12 designation, Pikachu’s open eyes, horizontal flying pose, and the airplane positioned to the right of Pikachu.
It is an especially appealing vintage release for collectors of Pikachu artwork variations, Japanese Old Back cards, airline promotional cards, and early Pokémon memorabilia.
✈️ Special ANA Distribution
Unlike standard retail Pokémon cards, this Flying Pikachu was distributed as part of an ANA promotional campaign, connecting it directly to the famous early collaboration between Pokémon and All Nippon Airways.
These ANA cards are particularly memorable pieces of late-1990s Pokémon history, when the franchise’s popularity extended beyond games and trading cards into real-world promotions such as the Pokémon Jet campaigns.
The combination of Pikachu, aviation imagery, ANA promotional history, and the classic Japanese Old Back design makes this an instantly recognizable early Pokémon collectible.
📦 Condition
MP (Moderately Played)
The condition has been evaluated conservatively based on eBay’s official trading card condition guidelines.
This vintage card shows moderate signs of previous use and handling. Both the front and back remain relatively clean overall, with surface wear, light scratches, edge wear, corner wear, and whitening consistent with its age.
There is also a horizontal bend / crease-like mark extending approximately one-third of the width of the card. Please refer carefully to the close-up photos for its appearance.
Despite this localized bend mark, the card retains good overall eye appeal on both the front and back, with no major tears or missing pieces.
Considering the overall wear together with the horizontal bend / crease-like mark, we have conservatively classified this card as MP (Moderately Played).
Please carefully review all photos, including the close-up images, as they are an important part of the condition description.
The card shown in the photos is the exact card you will receive.
