1999 ANA Flying Pikachu — Exclusive Wink Artwork
This listing features the Japanese Flying Pikachu (そらをとぶピカチュウ) LV.11 / No.025, distributed exclusively through All Nippon Airways (ANA) in 1999.
Featuring artwork by Toshinao Aoki, this vintage Japanese Pokémon promo shows Pikachu winking while flying through the sky with balloons and an airplane in the background.
This distinctive “Wink” Flying Pikachu artwork makes the card especially recognizable among early Japanese Pikachu promotional cards.
✈️ ANA “Everyone’s Happy Campaign”
This card was distributed through ANA’s 1999 “Everyone’s Happy Campaign” (みんなにうれしいキャンペーン) celebrating the ANA Pokémon Jet ’99.
Unlike an ordinary retail card, obtaining it required participation in the ANA campaign.
During the promotion, passengers who flew on eligible ANA domestic flights collected two boarding pass stubs, attached them to a special application postcard, and mailed it in to receive the exclusive promotional cards.
For the June–July 1999 campaign period, applicants received a special two-card set featuring:
• Flying Pikachu
• Articuno
This unusual distribution method gives the card a particularly strong connection to the early history of both the Pokémon TCG and ANA Pokémon Jets.
⚡ A Distinctive Flying Pikachu Artwork
Several early Japanese versions of Flying Pikachu exist, but this ANA promotional version is immediately recognizable by Pikachu’s winking expression.
Rather than simply being another printing of the familiar Flying Pikachu design, the wink gives this release its own distinctive visual identity.

The condition has been evaluated conservatively based on eBay’s official trading card condition guidelines.
This vintage card shows moderate signs of previous use and handling, including surface wear, light scratches, edge wear, corner wear, and whitening consistent with its age.
Most importantly, the card has a curved bend / crease-like mark, with part of the inward-folded area appearing as a visible wrinkle on the front surface. This issue can be difficult to see when the card is viewed straight-on, so please refer carefully to the dedicated “Points to Check” image and angled close-up photos, which were taken specifically to show it clearly.
Despite this localized issue, the card remains intact and retains good overall visual appeal for a vintage card with genuine handling wear.
Considering the overall wear together with the curved bend and surface wrinkle, we have conservatively classified this card as MP (Moderately Played).
