Key Features

Sterling by Music Man DarkRay 4 Black

This innovative bass combines the legendary StingRay design with cutting-edge electronics developed in collaboration with Darkglass Electronics. The DarkRay features a custom Darkglass 2-band active preamp with three distinct modes: clean, Alpha distortion, and Omega distortion, allowing instant access to powerful modern metal and loud rock tones without external effects. The bass includes Gain and Blend controls for versatile sound shaping, making it suitable for stage and studio use.

Equipped with Alnico humbuckers, the DarkRay delivers the punchy attack and tight lows characteristic of StingRay, enhanced by the Darkglass preamp for a modern, commanding sound. The neck is crafted from roasted maple with an ebony fingerboard, offering excellent rigidity, response, and clarity. The body features a comfortable StingRay contour, with a 34-inch scale length, 21 medium frets, and a 9.5-inch radius for smooth playability.

Visually, the bass sports a sleek black finish with LED rings around the control knobs that illuminate in red for Alpha mode and blue for Omega mode, adding a dynamic visual element during performances. The hardware includes a Sterling by Music Man designed bridge, open gear tuning machines, and a dual-action truss rod for stability.
