This is a versatile 4-string bass guitar from ESP's renowned AP series, designed to match a wide range of musical genres with its traditional yet adaptable sound. The bass features a White Ash body paired with a hard maple neck, providing a bright and punchy tone. Equipped with two Seymour Duncan SMB-4D pickups and a Seymour Duncan STC-3M4 preamp, it offers a rich palette of sounds suitable for various styles.
The control layout includes volume, pickup balancer, and a 3-band EQ. The volume control is a switch pot that, when pulled, instantly switches to a "don-shari" sound by cutting midrange and boosting high and low frequencies. A mini switch allows for series, parallel, or coil-split configurations, enabling a broad spectrum of tonal options. The 35-inch super-long scale delivers a clear, resonant sound with a defined attack.
The neck joint is a sturdy 6-bolt design, enhancing sound response and stability. The bass produces a tight, responsive tone with excellent tension. Despite visible signs of use, such as minor scratches, buckle marks, and dings on the back and sides of the neck, the fretboard remains in good condition with approximately 80% fret life remaining, free of significant wear or buzzing.
Please note, the included gig bag is non-original, with a damaged zipper pull on the front pocket but remains functional.
