Every card gets eyeballed by a human before it goes into inventory. When it's a close call, we always round down. Here's what our grades actually mean:
NEAR MINT (NM) â Pack fresh or near enough. No scratches, sharp corners, clean surface. We allow a tiny bit of edge or corner whitening, or a couple of stray white specks on the surface. Nothing you'd notice in a sleeve. LIGHTLY PLAYED (LP) â One notch down. Some visible whitening on corners and edges, maybe a light surface scuff or two. Up to roughly a third of the edges and corners front and back may show wear. Still a great looking card. MODERATELY PLAYED (MP) â Whitening around most of the edges and corners. Surface scratches you can see without hunting for them. Small creases are fine here. A card with one bigger flaw can still land in MP if the rest of it is clean. HEAVILY PLAYED (HP) â Wear across the whole card. Faded colour, heavy whitening, obvious surface damage. Might feel a bit soft in hand, but it's still structurally in one piece. DAMAGED (DMG) â Major creases, bends, tears, missing chunks, water damage or staining. Anything with a stain or water mark goes straight here regardless of how the rest of it looks.
