These species have different germination requirements, so they should be sown separately.
For most of the temperate species in this collection, a period of cold stratification is recommended to help break natural seed dormancy.
For Andromeda polifolia, Vaccinium macrocarpon and Rhododendron tomentosum, use an acidic, nutrient-poor substrate and keep the sowing medium consistently moist.
The very small seeds of Rhododendron tomentosum should be surface-sown and not buried deeply.
