A distinctive collection of four beautiful plants associated with bogs, peatlands, wet meadows and other cool, moist habitats.

This collection combines delicate bog flowers, edible cranberry, an ornamental wetland shrub and aromatic Labrador tea — ideal for bog gardens, naturalistic wetland plantings and botanical collections.

Each species is supplied in its own individually labelled seed packet. The seeds are not mixed together.

Sowing information

These species have different germination requirements, so they should be sown separately.

For most of the temperate species in this collection, a period of cold stratification is recommended to help break natural seed dormancy.

For Andromeda polifolia, Vaccinium macrocarpon and Rhododendron tomentosum, use an acidic, nutrient-poor substrate and keep the sowing medium consistently moist.

The very small seeds of Rhododendron tomentosum should be surface-sown and not buried deeply.

Recommended general conditions:

• Bright but gentle light
• Consistently moist substrate
• Good air circulation
• Rainwater, distilled water or other low-mineral water for acid-loving species
• Do not allow the sowing medium to dry out

Germination may be slow or irregular and can vary between species.
