For Sale 2006 VW Golf 2.0TDI MK5 5dr

MOT Expiry 24/3/27

Have a folder of paperwork mainly from the previous owner.  I've serviced the car twice over past 4 years.

This has been my daily for since 2022 clocking up 18,000 miles in that time, approx 5k a year.  New car hence selling.

The car is 20 years old so no spring chicken.  Still pulls and starts every time.

It needs a few quid spending on it.  As I just potter about in the car there's no desire to fix a few the issues that the car has.

Good Points

- Engine has been great.  I had a small coolant leak in 2025 but had this repaired.  I was a small tube so easy fix.
- No leaks
- Replaced a belt earlier in the year that powered the Air Conditioning and Power Steering.
- Replaced the battery a couple of years ago.
- Body work pretty decent.  Spent £200 replacing a front drivers side wing April 2026.  Replaced as it was rusting on the wheel arch and looked rubbish.
- All lights and buttons work.  Air Con nice and cold (utilised over the summer months)
- All windows work
-Has spare wheel and all the bits that go with it.  Plus the locking nut.
-All four tyres in good condition.
-2 keys

Bad Points

- Engine Management Light is on.  DPF Filter needs a clean I guess or replacement.  DPF was the code that came up.
- Radio Signal isn't the best
- Front windscreen wash intermittent.  Back is fine so makes me think a block of some kind or split somewhere.
- Crack low down on windscreen. Doesn't effect view.  Could do with replacing IMO.
- Fuel cap can be intermittent when opening on the internal latch.  Had this issue when I purchased the car, just takes a few attempts to open.
- Bonnet release snapped off but purchased a new one which works.

In my opinion it's a solid car.  It's been super low maintenance for me for the low amount of miles that I've done.  I'd imagine someone in the trade could get all the issues above attended to for a relatively low cost.  If you're not in the trade a few hundred quid I guess. Or see the MOT out and sell for spares or repairs.
