Original vintage approximately 7 x 5 inch black and white photographic print showing the tramway terminus at the Cameron Hotel, High Street, Swansea.
A fantastic historic Swansea street scene showing the tram at the terminus, period buildings, shops, advertising and pedestrians.
The photograph has particularly good historical detail, including Hodges & Sons, whose Swansea premises are visible on the building. Historical records confirm Hodges & Sons operated in Swansea, including premises at 1 High Street and 30 College Street.
The reverse is handwritten "Tramway Terminus at the Cameron", with further location notes referring to College Street and High Street.
The Cameron Hotel was a well-known tram terminus on High Street, and photographs of the 1905 tram terminus are recorded in Swansea historical collections.
Approximate size: 7 x 5 inches.
Original vintage photograph – not a modern reproduction.
The original negative is retained.
Condition:
Good vintage condition for its age, with some light surface marks, scratches and general signs of photographic ageing. There is some softness and wear visible in places, but the overall scene remains clear and the important architectural and tramway details are visible. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
I am always happy to consider sensible offers.
