A truly one-of-a-kind vintage statement cabinet, professionally refinished by Fuddyduddy Furniture.
Designed to be anything but ordinary, this beautiful vintage cabinet has been completely transformed in a vibrant rich pink, with carefully picked-out gold detailing highlighting the original curves, mouldings and decorative features.
The upper glazed cabinet features striking gold latticework to the doors, while the interior has been given an equally dramatic makeover with a dark floral backdrop, creating a gorgeous contrast against the pink exterior.
The image is a decoupaged aged floral old world painting blended with shades of teal and blues, sealed and aged further with dark wax.
The section I love the most is to the sides. I have used a combination of stencil work and hand painting to create a layered floral design in shades of blue and teal with gold highlights.
Ornate gold hardware and detailing throughout complete the maximalist, boutique-inspired look.
Below the display section are two generous drawers, making this a wonderfully practical piece as well as a real focal point. The insides have been cleaned and restrained and oiled to bring back the lovely dark chocolate interior. I have painted the sides of the drawers in blue and teal stripes and sealed over with wax, they open and glide smoothly.
To finish I have used a dark wax to seal and enhance the colours. The piece definitely has some age to it and the oak has an open grain so using the dark wax allowed me to create an aged and moody finish which I love it completely brings everything together so well.
It would make a fabulous cocktail or drinks cabinet, glassware cabinet, dining-room display piece, or simply an extraordinary piece of statement furniture for someone who loves colour and interiors with personality.
