Vintage Hand-Cut California Lapidary Cabochon Collection – Riverside County – 38 Pieces

Offered here is a collection of approximately **38 hand-cut and polished stone cabochons** originally obtained from a **family-owned Southern California rock shop**.

I was told that the material was **field collected in Riverside County, California**, and subsequently cut and polished by the shop. I do not have documentation identifying the exact collecting locations, so the stones are being offered based on their appearance and known history rather than specific mine/locality claims.

The collection includes a wide variety of colors, patterns and cuts, including:

* Banded and lace-pattern material
* Dendritic and landscape-like patterns
* Orbicular patterns
* Red, brown, black, green, blue, purple and yellow material
* Ovals, rectangles, freeforms, teardrops and other hand-shaped cuts
* Several larger statement-sized cabochons

These are **not a set of identical calibrated commercial cabs**. Shapes and sizes vary considerably, and many appear to have been individually oriented and cut to highlight the natural pattern of the stone.

Please see the photographs with the ruler for actual dimensions. Many pieces are approximately **30–50 mm**, although sizes vary throughout the collection.

Some stones resemble commonly known varieties of jasper, agate, chalcedony and other lapidary materials; however, **I am not guaranteeing individual mineral or variety identifications**. I would rather leave exact identification to the knowledgeable collector or lapidary buyer than incorrectly label unusual local material.

The stones have been stored together as a collection and may show minor surface marks, natural inclusions, pits, fractures or other characteristics associated with natural stone and hand-cut lapidary work. Please examine all photographs closely for condition, pattern, shape and finish.
