Charming vintage wooden butter mold or butter stamp featuring a removable plunger with a carved floral design. The round wooden insert presses down through the darker cylindrical outer mold, leaving the flower motif impressed into a molded pat of butter.
These small wooden molds were traditional kitchen tools used to shape and decorate homemade butter. Your example has especially nice contrast between the dark outer wood and lighter carved plunger.
Measures approximately 2 inches tall as shown.
Vintage condition with scratches, finish wear, discoloration and an old label/residue area on the exterior. The wooden stamp face also shows age-related dryness and a visible hairline/surface split in the carved area. Still a terrific primitive kitchen collectible or farmhouse display piece.
