Rare WWII-era American Hummel “Postman” figure produced by Ars Sacra / Herbert Dubler in the United States.

This approximately 6.5-inch figure depicts a young postman in dark uniform and cap carrying letters under one arm with a postal satchel at the front. The base is incised with the B. Hummel signature and retains the original gold foil label reading “Authentic Hummel Figure, Produced by Ars Sacra, Made in U.S.A.”

These American-produced Hummel figures were made during the wartime period and differ from the later German Goebel porcelain figures. They were produced in a softer chalkware/plaster-type material and are much more susceptible to wear and chipping.

Condition is quite worn but wonderfully characterful. There is extensive age crazing/cracking, numerous paint chips and losses, visible surface wear, and larger chipped areas including the hand and satchel. Please review all photographs carefully. Despite the condition, the figure remains intact enough for display and retains both the original label and identifying markings.
