This charming antique Porcellanous Greyhound or whippet figure is a rare example of early Staffordshire. Refer to “Dogs in English Porcelaine” by D.G.Rice. Page 22, Colour Plate 18 for reference. The dog has a smooth, light tan color and is shown lying down with its legs tucked gracefully to the side. The base is a decorative, ruffled cushion painted with a bright green top and a white tinted base.

The dog measures approximately 1.75 inches in height, 3.5 inches in length, and 2.25 inches in width. It contains no markings. There are some original flaws to the piece, including firing cracks, an incomplete paw and a chip under glaze to left front corner of base as shown on photos. Most significant wear appears to be to paint on the face.

The item(s) are antique and sold as is/as found unless otherwise noted. Because they are old, they were used and will not look new or new-like. They likely show wear, fading, scratches, chips, cracks, past repair/restoration, original imperfections and/or damage from normal use. Significant issues are shown in photos. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. Imperfections were factored into pricing. No returns or refunds.
