You can find amethyst in Scotland. A lot of people struggle to believe it but if you search up enough hills, you will eventually find amethyst.

This piece was part of a bigger chunk of amethyst which we sliced and polished and this was the last piece. This chunk came from the southern hills circa 2020/21 rock hunting season. It came from the burn. I am certain there is an early TSC video on the socials from that trip.

This rock was cut on a saw then popped into our rock tumbling machine for about a month. It has come through four States of polish plus burnishing and cleaning.

The stone has a line separating where the yellow limonite and purple amethyst separate. It is a fine example with a polish that will continue to improve the more it is handled.

So amethyst isn't rare but the location is. This is a good buy for crystal collectors.
