The Ivar 38L Women's is the largest pack in Highlander's award-winning women's Ivar line, sized for the long days where a 25 litre day pack runs out and for the light overnighters that follow. The shoulder straps are shaped for the female figure rather than scaled down from a unisex pattern, and the Airvent back system keeps air moving between the pack and your back on warm climbs. A padded hip fin with a zipped pocket takes the weight off the shoulders once the pack is loaded, and a full front zip opens the main compartment from the front so you can reach the bottom without unpacking from the lid down. At 1.2kg empty it stays genuinely light for 38 litres, and the raincover is already in the pack rather than an extra to buy. Walking pole and ice axe loops, hydration compatibility and a whistle buckle on the chest strap cover the practicalities. Available in Haar Grey and Navy Blue, both in this listing. |
Key Features | ✓ Women's Ergonomic Shoulder Straps - Shaped for the female figure rather than scaled down from a unisex pattern, giving a more natural carry position over a long day under load. | | ✓ Airvent Back System - Keeps air moving between the pack and your back to cut heat build-up on climbs and warm days. | | ✓ 38 Litre Main Compartment - Room for a full day kit list with winter layers, or a light one-night setup without the bulk of an expedition pack. | | ✓ Front Zip Quick Access - Opens the main compartment from the front, so buried kit comes out without emptying the pack from the top. | | ✓ Large Front Zip Pocket - Separate zipped storage for the accessories you want out of the main body of the pack. | | ✓ Padded Hip Fin with Zipped Pocket - Shifts the load onto the hips where it belongs, with a zipped pocket for snacks, phone or a compass within reach. | | ✓ Zip Lid Pocket - Secure, quick-to-reach storage at the top of the pack for the small things you need on the move. | | ✓ Chest Strap with Whistle Buckle - Adjustable strap steadies the pack on the move, with an emergency whistle built into the buckle. | | ✓ Webbing Load Stabilisation - Stabiliser webbing on the shoulder straps pulls the load in close to the back and reduces sway on rough ground. | | ✓ Walking Pole and Ice Axe Loops - Dedicated external carry points free your hands on scrambly ground and winter routes. | | ✓ Hydration Bladder Compatible - Internal sleeve takes a reservoir so you can drink without stopping to dig out a bottle. | | ✓ Raincover Included - Stows in the pack until the weather turns, then goes straight over the top. No separate cover to remember or pay for. | | ✓ Highlander 282-Year Guarantee - One year for each of Scotland's 282 Munros, covering faults in materials and workmanship. |
Ideal For | Long Day Walks and Hill Routes - Volume for extra food, layers and group kit when the day runs longer than planned. | | Light Overnight Trips - Carries a lightweight one-night setup without stepping up to a full expedition pack. | | Sizing Up from a Day Pack - The same women's fit as the 25L Ivar, with considerably more room. | | Travel and Weekends Away - Front zip access makes it practical to live out of the pack without repacking each morning. | | Hillwalking and Trekking - Ventilated back and hip fin keep the carry comfortable once the pack is loaded. |
