The U.S. Postal Service issued these gummed Lunar New Year stamps on February 5, 1994 in Pomona, CA in celebration of the Year of the Dog. The Lunar New Year, the most important holiday of the year for many Asian communities around the world, is celebrated primarily by people of Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Tibetan, and Mongolian heritage.
