Evapo-Rust ER012 Heavy-Duty Water-Based Rust Remover (1 Gallon / 128 Fl Oz)
Description
Eliminate deep rust down to bare metal without the hassle of wire brushing, grinding, or using hazardous acid baths with CRC Evapo-Rust Heavy-Duty Rust Remover (1 Gallon). Manufactured in the United States by CRC Industries, Evapo-Rust utilizes advanced selective chelation technology to strip oxidation and rust scale from ferrous metals while keeping unrusted base steel, paint, and surrounding non-ferrous surfaces completely unharmed.
Traditional chemical rust removers rely on harsh phosphoric, hydrochloric, or oxalic acids that emit toxic fumes, burn skin, damage delicate machine tolerances, and cause hydrogen embrittlement in high-strength automotive steel. Evapo-Rust is water-based, non-toxic, non-corrosive, and 100% acid-free, containing zero VOCs, solvents, or offensive odors. It selectively binds exclusively to iron oxide, leaving the underlying base metal clean, smooth, and ready for immediate painting, priming, or corrosion-inhibiting treatment.
Evapo-Rust is completely reusable—one single gallon can remove up to 0.5 pounds of pure dry rust. Simply pour the ready-to-use liquid into a soaking tray, submerge your rusty components, allow it to work, and pour it back into the jug for future projects.

Step 1 (Prep & Pour): Remove loose surface dirt, heavy oil, and grease using a degreaser. Pour ready-to-use Evapo-Rust into a plastic or stainless steel soaking basin.
Step 2 (Submerge & Soak): Completely immerse the rusty parts. Allow light surface rust to soak for 30 minutes; allow heavy, pitted rust to soak for 12 to 24 hours.
Step 3 (Rinse & Dry): Remove parts from the bath, rinse thoroughly with fresh water, and dry immediately.
Step 4 (Reuse & Protect): Pour the used liquid back into the original container for reuse. Spray clean parts with a rust inhibitor or primer to protect against flash rust.
