Originally the meeting place for the emerging punk scene in London, the boutique’s soundtrack reflected the adventurous and eclectic musical tastes that helped shape the era.
This Record Store Day 2026 compilation features an extraordinary mix of rock, pop, rhythm & blues, doo wop, Latin and heavy metal, with classic and cult recordings from The Zombies, ? & The Mysterians, Black Sabbath, Trini Lopez, Billy Fury, Twinkle, Roy Orbison, The Dixie Cups, Mickey & Sylvia, Arthur Alexander, The Flamin' Groovies, The Marcels, Elvis Presley, The Who, Jody Reynolds and Ian Hunter. Highlights include “She's Not There”, “96 Tears”, “Paranoid”, “Iko Iko”, “My Generation” and “Once Bitten, Twice Shy”.
Issued by Stranger Than Paradise Records under catalogue number STPR4LP, this UK Record Store Day exclusive is limited to just 1,000 copies and pressed on striking Coke Bottle Clear vinyl. The release includes a double-sided 12" x 12" colour insert and is a particularly desirable collector's item for fans of the Sex Pistols story, Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood, the original Kings Road punk scene, and classic and cult vinyl.
This first pressing also features a notable track-listing misprint, with the actual sequence on the vinyl differing from the sleeve and centre labels. The third and final chapter in the series, this is a fascinating snapshot of the music that inspired and surrounded one of the most influential fashion boutiques and cultural landmarks of the 1970s.
