Guide to tying down your motorcycle
1.Use a minimum of 2 tie-downs in the front of the motorcycle and 2 in the back
2.For the front,choose tie-down anchor spots that will pull the straps forward and down,not to the side or back
3.Hook one end of your tie down strap into an anchor point near the front of the bike
4.Use the ratchet to bring the strap to the appropriate length;twist the strap webbing to reduce wind noise and friction on the open road.
5.Hook the other strap end over a solid bike part such as the fork tubes,or into the loop of a soft tie that is secured to your bike
(never anchor tie-downs to aluminium bike parts,they aren't made to bear the weight and can snop)
6.The kickstand can't carry the weight of the motorcycle during travel so once the straps are hooked,put it up;then sit on the seat and lean from one side to the other,pulling the straps tight as you go
7.Excess starp is likely to whip against the bike or truck and tuin the body finish,or get caught and cut.To avoid this,tie the strap to iteself or knot it under the ratchet
