Description: The Mission LX-1 MKII are compact two-way bookshelf speakers that combine Mission’s long-standing British loudspeaker heritage with modern driver technology and an attractive, understated design. At the heart of the LX-1 MKII is a 100mm (4-inch) composite-fibre bass/midrange driver, designed to provide good control and responsiveness across the lower and middle frequencies. This is partnered with a 25mm microfibre dome tweeter, delivering clear and refined high frequencies while maintaining a smooth overall presentation. One of the most distinctive features is Mission’s trademark Inverted Driver Geometry (IDG). Unlike a conventional speaker arrangement, the tweeter is positioned below the bass/midrange driver. Mission uses this arrangement to optimise the acoustic path between the two drivers and improve time alignment at the listening position, helping produce a coherent presentation with precise imaging and good transient response. The MKII generation also benefits from developments derived from Mission’s more expensive loudspeaker ranges. Revised driver surrounds help control unwanted reflections, while improvements to the crossover and internal cabinet bracing contribute to greater clarity, smoother frequency response and improved detail compared with the original LX design. The LX-1 MKII use a bass-reflex enclosure and offer a quoted frequency response of 58Hz–20kHz, with bass extension reaching 55Hz at -6dB. Sensitivity is rated at 86dB, with an 8-ohm-compatible nominal impedance and a recommended amplifier power of 20–80 watts. Measuring just 260mm high, 160mm wide and 208mm deep including the terminals, the LX-1 MKII are particularly easy to accommodate where space is limited.
