Wonderful early American travel diary and reference book manufactured by Samuel Ward Mfg. Co., Made in U.S.A.

Features a dark embossed textured cover with gold “TRAVELS” lettering and an original metal clasp.

The book includes a beautifully illustrated “Record of the Travels” title page along with numerous travel and maritime reference sections, including nautical miles, compass directions, buoys and fog signals, sea watches, ship’s bells, latitude and longitude tables, distances between cities, city information, and pages for recording a voyage.

One of the reference tables is dated 1928, helping date this example to the late 1920s / early 1930s.

Also includes dedicated “The Log Going,” “The Log Returning,” and “Captain’s Autograph” pages.

Condition:

Very good antique condition for its age. The cover shows normal age-related wear and the pages have natural toning/yellowing consistent with a book nearly 100 years old. Metal clasp shows surface wear from age and use. Interior appears well preserved. Please review all photos carefully as they are an important part of the condition description.
