Vintage continental postcard from The Grenadier Guards series, Set 8 Card No. 2, after original paintings by Bryan Fosten, copyright 1987. The color illustration depicts a Sergeant of the Light Company, First Foot Guards, during the Waterloo campaign of 1815. He is shown standing in a war-damaged village street wearing a shako, scarlet coatee, crossed white belts, and grey overalls, representing British infantry dress of the Napoleonic Wars. Reverse features printed historical notes detailing the regiment’s service in the Peninsular War and at the Battle of Waterloo, with “Post Office Preferred” back.
