Vintage Vogue Vanities Decorative Powder Compact – Made in England – c.1948–52
An attractive vintage Vogue Vanities powder compact, believed to date from the late 1940s to early 1950s.
The circular gilt-tone case has a particularly striking decorative top featuring two colourful exotic birds within a landscape, surrounded by ornate gilt scrollwork and a rich blue border.
The interior retains its mirror, powder compartment and removable mesh sifter. The compact is marked
“VOGUE – MADE IN ENGLAND”
internally and also carries a
“PRO. PAT.”
marking to the fitting.
Research into Vogue Vanities places this style of compact within the firm's post-war production. Vogue patented improvements to its compact mechanisms during 1946–47, while comparable colourful decorative Vogue Vanities compacts were produced from the late 1940s into the early 1950s.

Please note: the original powder puff is not present.
Condition Good vintage condition overall, with age-related wear, marks and tarnishing to the metal surfaces and some ageing/spotting to the interior and mirror. The decorative top remains particularly attractive and displays very well.
