Jynx No.124 – No Rarity Symbol Base Set (1996)

This authentic Japanese Jynx is one of the highly collectible “No Rarity Symbol” cards printed in the very first production run of the original Pokémon Base Set in 1996.

Unlike later printings, these earliest Japanese cards were released without the rarity symbol, making them some of the most desirable vintage Pokémon cards among collectors.

This original artwork also features Jynx’s original black-colored design, which was later changed to purple for international releases following overseas controversy. As a result, the original Japanese version has become an iconic collectible among vintage Pokémon enthusiasts.

Historical Significance

✔ One of the original No Rarity Symbol cards from Japan’s first Pokémon card print run.

✔ Features the original Japanese artwork before the international redesign.

✔ A well-known vintage collectible among Pokémon card collectors worldwide.

Condition: MP (Moderately Played)

The condition has been evaluated conservatively based on eBay’s official trading card condition guidelines.

The card shows moderate signs of age and handling on both sides, including surface wear, scratches/hairlines, edge and corner wear, and whitening.

There are also several areas with light bending/pressure marks. These are relatively subtle when viewed straight on, so please refer carefully to the “Points to Check” close-up image, where they are shown under angles and lighting that make them easier to see.

Despite these condition points, the card retains good overall presentation for a vintage copy, with strong color and no major tear or severe structural damage observed.

Please carefully review all photos and close-ups for the exact condition.

The card shown in the photos is the exact card you will receive.

A well-presenting vintage Jynx with all notable condition points clearly disclosed — a solid collector copy for the MP range.
