Julian Novorol (1949 - 2026)

Very large Oil, Signed bottom left & dated to 1972

Description: Stunningly haunting and beautiful large oil depicting a single Curlew gliding over a quiet shore skyline, soft pink rosette like clouds in the sky, warm golden tones in the water hailing sunrise, gentle waves lapping the shoreline, very nice interplay of water and light - as usual, immense attention to detail and colour, an absolute master at work.

Mounted in a large cream frame, the frame was slightly wobbly so I've reinforced it at the verso with galvanised steel L-shaped corner angle brackets.

Framed Size: 122 x 135cm; Inset: 108 x 122cm

About the Artist:

Julian Novorol was born in 1949 and has always lived on the Essex coast. Being keen on nature, Julian’s interest in ducks grew when he began wildfowling in 1963. His enthusiasm for the sport led him to try to recapture on canvas, scenes from his forays to the marshes near his home. His work has been exhibited with the Society of Wildlife Artists in London, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and the Tryon Gallery. His work has been sold widely in the UK and abroad and several of his paintings have been chosen for limited edition prints.
