This Listing is for ONE NEW Single Nine-Mile Prairie 70¢ Stamp from 2001.

Mint. MNH. No flaws. From a Smoke-Free and Pet-Free Environment.

On March 6, 2001 in Lincoln, NE, the U.S. Postal Service issued these Nine-Mile Prairie 70¢ self-adhesive stamps - the 4th issuance in the Scenic American Landscapes series. This stamp was based on a photograph by Michael Forsberg of Lincoln, NE.

Nine-Mile Prairie in Nebraska is named for its location: five miles west and four miles north of downtown Lincoln. Most of this 230-acre prairie has never been plowed, so it is one of the largest areas of virgin tall grass prairie in the state. Owned by the University of Nebraska Foundation, it has been preserved for nature study, teaching, and research.
