An absolute showstopper for collectors of the rare and unusual. Up for sale is a heavy-gauge, fully functional sterling silver poison pendant locket executing a magnificent Etruscan Revival design.

Weighing a substantial 9.17 grams, the face of the locket features a glittering, copper-flecked oval Goldstone cabochon uniquely mounted in a rare horizontal (East-West) orientation. The stone is nestled in a smooth, polished bezel, completely encircled by an intricate twisted sterling rope border. Radiating outward from the center is exquisite, old-world scrolling wirework, anchored at the North, South, East, and West cardinal positions by three-dimensional clusters of three grapes.

FUNCTIONAL DESIGN:

This is a true classic "poison" or pill-box style pendant. The ornate top lid features a secure latch that opens on a tight, crisp hinge to reveal a secret hollow compartment (0.75" diameter by 0.5" depth)—perfect for small keepsakes, pills, or daily curiosities. The latch snaps closed firmly for secure wear.
