Bryant & Stratton College in Rhode Island historically evolved into what is known today as Bryant University located in Smithfield, Rhode Island. 

• Origins: The institution traces its roots back to 1863 when the original Bryant and Stratton national chain of business schools expanded.

• Providence Era: In 1916, Harry L. Jacobs purchased the Providence branch and incorporated it as the Bryant and Stratton Rhode Island Commercial School.
