New forces in the world of pipes: this is how the irruption (it should be called that) of Roberto and Pierangelo Ascorti into a sector which at that time (1984) seemed to respond to stagnation with drowsiness or at least with resignation was greeted. They were very young, 26 and 22 years old, but they had grown up on bread and pipes, as they say. The company was also young, but Peppino Ascorti who had founded it in Cucciago (Cantù) in 1980 had then started making pipes under his own name after a valuable school with Carlo Scotti and after the beautiful adventure of Caminetto with Radice and Davoli. In the Ascorti household, therefore, we lived on pipes: the boys spent their holidays in a Ligurian town where briar was worked.

This tradition, the very legacy of his father's teaching and example, may not have been enough when, in 1984, Peppino Ascorti suddenly and prematurely left, leaving everything on the shoulders of his two children. The repercussion of the loss should have led to some confusion, a stasis, a confusion. And instead the determination of the two young people emerged, almost angry, with an activism that seemed to want to fill the painful void. There was no stopping, fresh and innovative solutions were immediately grafted onto the already solid production bases. Today the pipes with the beautiful logo of the slender A are still Ascorti but are no longer "Peppino's".

The briar used for Ascorti pipes is Italian from various areas, subjected to correct seasoning. The mouthpieces are made of black, white, mother-of-pearl methacrylate, the latter especially for the United States, where distribution is ensured by the Tinder Box chain. In Italy distribution is oriented towards a limited number of specialized shops. 

Attention is paid in particular to young people, as is right and as is logical considering the age of the Ascorti who look to the world of youth also in various expressions, not necessarily bizarre or extravagant, of their production.
