This is a new, unused single ‘Racing’ stand up block from Lewmar that takes up to 14mm line. We are in Harken Black Magic territory with this block. It is not for the likes of your average dinghy. It is a finely executed piece of engineering.
The block sits upright on a pad-eye base and swivels freely. There is provision for the block to be locked at 90 or 180 degrees by means of a pair of grub screws on the sides of the casing. Unfortunately these two grub screws are missing, hence at present it has a simple swivelling action.
The sheave runs on needle roller bearings and side to side play is supported by Delrin ball bearings. Please take a look at the photographs.
