On April 7, 1909, a major train disaster occurred on the F.J. & G.R.R. (Franklin Junction and Geneva Railroad) along the banks of the Raging Cayadutta Creek in Montgomery County, New York. The wreck was the result of a collision or derailment that sent locomotives and freight cars plunging into the creek, causing significant destruction.
