T1.5 is equivalent to the image found at an aperture of f/1.4 which means that the area of the focus plane is very narrow, which creates a dreamy bokeh that helps draw the attention of the viewer towards the intended subject. Fast T stops are the industry trend where hyper depths of field of T1.5 and T2.0 were used exclusively in the hit independent film Obsession (2025). Classic Hollywood films were shot at an aperture of T4 or T5.6 outdoors, and T2.8 when shooting interior shots, so whether you are shooting your feature film on trend, or with classic sensibilities, these lenses can shoot every style.
In cinema, when switching camera shots on the same subject from a wide shot to a close-up, the light levels must be consistent between focal ranges, or the sudden changes in contrast, especially in the foreground and background will be jarring and disrupt the viewer, taking them out of the scene - something that is done on purpose during a jump scare, but not something you want the viewer to be visibly distracted by during an interview camera change, or a switch between a medium to a close-up during an intimate scene. When you match the T-stop between lenses, you can be certain that the light will be identical between both shots. This is especially important when shooting multi-cam and making fast cuts between cameras; the light has to be the same between all of the camera angles, and across all focal lengths. Unlike photography lenses, cinema lenses are precisely calibrated to ensure that each T stop is identical to the T stop value across all lenses when that light hits the sensor. This is essential when replicating shots that may be days apart, or in a studio environment where the light has to look identical on every single shooting day. This is the reason why photographers can easily switch and become videographers, but their work never quite looks like cinema or film because they use photography lenses which vary wildly in light and contrast between focal lengths, even within the same lens.
Rokinon is a division of Samyang (South Korea) which makes both professional photography lenses and cinema lenses. Rokinon CINE are calibrated cinema lenses with manual focus meant for indie film makers working on films and television with a budget of around $100,000 and require a mechanical or motorized focus wheel, and whenever possible, a 1st AC to control focus. Samyang also makes Xeen lenses which are aimed at full-time independent filmmakers with budgets above $100,000. These lenses represent an incredible value for filmmakers who make professional content for money, and who are ready to move to the precision of professional cinema lenses instead photography lenses. These lenses are for made especially for narrative filmmaking, studio setups, documentary film making, and any multi-cam project, such as reality television and commercial work.

FEATURES & OPTICAL EXCELLENCE
True Cinema Housing: Built strictly for cinema, featuring integrated focus and aperture gears. De-Clicked Aperture Ring: Eliminates clicking sounds and mechanical jerking, allowing for ultra-smooth, silent iris pulls on the fly.0.8 MOD Industry Gearing: Fully compatible with standard cinema accessories, follow-focus systems, and wireless lens motors. T-Stop Calibration: Industry level calibration measured by actual light transmission (T-Stops) rather than theoretical f-stops for consistent, accurate, and uniform exposures resulting in precisely the same amount of light hitting the camera sensor when switching between lenses. Unified Gear Alignment (Cine DS / DSX Series): The focus and iris rings are located in identical positions across the entire lens lineup, allowing you to swap focal lengths without moving your follow focus or rebalancing a gimbal.Dual-Sided Markings: Focus and aperture distance scales are printed clearly on both sides of the barrel, making it easy for focus pullers to operate from either side of the camera.Internal Focusing Design: The physical length of the lens never changes while focusing, significantly reducing lens breathing and keeping a perfectly stable frame.Ultra Multi-Coating (UMC) & Color Matching: Lenses are color-matched to a strict factory standard to eliminate color shifts between shots, while advanced multi-coating minimizes ghosting, flares, and surface reflections.High-End Optical Glass: Incorporates hybrid aspherical and low-dispersion (ED) elements to deliver maximum corner-to-corner sharpness, high contrast, and minimal chromatic aberration.
