DESCRIPTION:

For sale is my facelift BMW E46 325Ci manual convertible, finished in black with 18-inch Calibre alloy wheels.

I have owned the car for approximately two years and used it regularly. I originally intended to keep it long-term, so I invested several thousand pounds in replacement parts and more than £2,000 in labour.

My circumstances have now changed, and I would prefer the car to go to a BMW enthusiast who will continue maintaining and enjoying it.

Manual facelift 325Ci convertibles are becoming increasingly difficult to find. This is a great-looking, usable example that regularly receives compliments.

MECHANICAL CONDITION

The engine runs well, and I use the car regularly without any major problems.

However, this is a 20-year-old enthusiast vehicle, so I want to describe it honestly.

The M54 engine uses oil and requires regular top-ups. It does not produce white smoke. These engines are known for oil consumption, but the buyer should monitor the level as part of normal ownership.

In the future, the next owner may choose to carry out a top-end refresh. If the engine is opened, it would make sense to address the valve-stem seals, VANOS seals and rocker-cover gasket at the same time.

An exhaust oxygen sensor occasionally triggers the engine-management light. The car continues to drive normally, but the sensor may require replacement.

Please inspect the car carefully and satisfy yourself regarding its condition before purchasing.

BODYWORK AND COSMETIC CONDITION

The car has been regularly polished and waxed throughout my ownership and still presents very well for its age.

Known cosmetic imperfections include:

• Scratch on the bonnet
• Minor bubbling on the front-left wing
• General age-related marks consistent with a 20-year-old vehicle

The bubbling on the wing is a common E46 issue. The car is not being advertised as immaculate, but it remains a very attractive example and receives plenty of attention.

WHY I AM SELLING

I planned to keep the car and invested accordingly, but my circumstances have changed.

I have already received a £2,700 trade offer. However, I would prefer the car to go to someone who understands and appreciates the E46.

Test drives will only be offered to serious buyers who can provide proof of valid insurance. Otherwise, I will be happy to demonstrate the car while driving.
