This is a lovely vintage Forrest German studio pottery rectangular dish, featuring a warm earthy brown and golden tan glaze with natural speckling and subtle variations throughout.
The simple geometric shape and rich organic glaze give it a wonderful Pacific Northwest studio pottery / Mid-Century Modern feel. Slightly larger than a traditional soap dish, it would work beautifully as a small trinket tray, jewelry dish, catchall, soap dish, or simply as a decorative piece of handmade pottery.
The underside is impressed “Forrest German” and also retains the artist’s distinctive hand-applied markings.
