This is a "Yuki-buki" (snow blower) piece by Hosokawa Shikou, a master of Yamanaka lacquerware.
The lacquer and makie (gold lacquer) are of high quality, with mother-of-pearl inlay used as accents in places.
The interior has a silver base, indicating superior craftsmanship.
This beautiful "Yuki-buki" is perfect for autumn seasonal arrangements.
Comes with a shared wooden box (kyobako) and a cloth (no seal).
The shared wooden box is a high-quality box with a four-sided slatted lid.

Shikou Hosokawa was born on September 12, 1941, in Hase-da-cho, Yamanaka-cho, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Became an apprentice lacquerware makie artist in Yamanaka-cho in 1969.
Became an independent lacquerware makie artist at the current location in 1974.
Selected for the Yamanaka-cho Lacquerware Craft Exhibition in 1978.
Received the Grand Prize at the Yamanaka-cho Lacquerware Makie Artist Exhibition in 1983.
