This is a large, heavy vintage cowbell with excellent rustic character and presence. The bell is hand-formed iron with a dark aged patina and features a hand-painted gold-toned decorative pattern. This gold paint is an authentic folk style used when coming to festivals. It is mounted on a wide black leather strap with a copper/brass-tone riveted bracket. Leather has been conditioned for protection and strength.

The bell has a solid weight (over 2.5 lbs) and produces a deep, loud, authentic tone. It works well as a functional livestock bell or as a standout piece of farmhouse, cabin, or western decor. Similar bells are traditionally used in Alpine regions of Europe during seasonal cattle festivals.
