This is the original version for the Gamecube. The CD works perfectly, and I've tested it extensively on a Gamecube I own. There are some very minor surface scuffs - but these do not effect the integrity of the game. It runs perfectly and was never 'refurbished'. This is not the original game case, but I find it works better than the usual cases. The original Gamecube cases are very hard to get the disc in and out of, this one has a nice gentle snap to it when removing it and putting it back.

- Refurbishing can make it look nicer, but the resurfacing can erase data from Gamecube CD's, and cheap polishing compounds can seep into the plastic and ruin the discs. Gamecube discs are not the same as other CD's because Nintendo made their own proprietary discs based on all of the pirating that was going on back when they were made, so - an unpolished disc is much more stable and reliable than one that looks better on the surface.

This is the only Phantasy Star online game that features couch co-op which is split screen and saves perfect with other players being able to collect their own items / build their characters etc. There are also still dedicated privately run servers out there that you can connect to - but you will have to research this online.
