1999 ANA Flying Pikachu — Exclusive Wink Artwork
This listing features the Japanese Flying Pikachu (そらをとぶピカチュウ) LV.11 / No.025, distributed exclusively through All Nippon Airways (ANA) in 1999.
Featuring artwork by Toshinao Aoki, this vintage Japanese Pokémon promo shows Pikachu winking while flying through the sky with balloons and an airplane in the background.
This distinctive “Wink” Flying Pikachu artwork makes the card especially recognizable among early Japanese Pikachu promotional cards.
✈️ ANA “Everyone’s Happy Campaign”
This card was distributed through ANA’s 1999 “Everyone’s Happy Campaign” (みんなにうれしいキャンペーン) celebrating the ANA Pokémon Jet ’99.
Unlike an ordinary retail card, obtaining it required participation in the ANA campaign.
During the promotion, passengers who flew on eligible ANA domestic flights collected two boarding pass stubs, attached them to a special application postcard, and mailed it in to receive the exclusive promotional cards.
For the June–July 1999 campaign period, applicants received a special two-card set featuring:
• Flying Pikachu
• Articuno
This unusual distribution method gives the card a particularly strong connection to the early history of both the Pokémon TCG and ANA Pokémon Jets.

Several early Japanese versions of Flying Pikachu exist, but this ANA promotional version is immediately recognizable by Pikachu’s winking expression.

The back shows more noticeable whitening and wear along the edges, particularly on the left side and corners, as clearly shown in the close-up photographs.
