Antique Flow Blue ironstone plate made by William Adams & Sons featuring a classic Gaudy Welsh or Gaudy Ironstone pattern. It is strongly influenced by "Japan" Style (Imari Influence) as shown in the bold color palette—combining underglaze cobalt blue, hand-painted rust/iron orange, green accents. The plate Features typical East Asian Chinoiserie and Japonisme elements, including a stylized oriental fence, a structured vase filled with flowers, and abstract garden foliage. A scalloped edge bordered by dense underglaze blue transfers, stylized orange floral crests, and cross-hatched geometric panels. On reverse is a printed pattern backstamp that places this plate's production in the Victorian era, specifically around the 1830s to 1860s, when the Staffordshire-based Adams family heavily focused on durable, hand-decorated ironstone wares meant for everyday use and export.

Flow blue is created when, during the firing process, the cobalt blue pigment intentionally bled or "flowed" into the white glaze, giving the detailed scenic elements their signature soft, blurred, and dreamy aesthetic.

The plate measures approximately 6.75 inches in diameter and sits .75 inches from the table. Some wear, crazing and original firing imperfections, most notably to the rim edge as shown in photos. Otherwise no chips, cracks or signs of obvious restoration observed.
