This lot contains 3 original locker room name plates from the 1980s Chicago Cubs…Ryne Sandberg, Davey Lopes, and Brian Dayett. Plates are made from thick card stock. They measure 13 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. These 3 players played together for the Cubs in 1985 and 1986, so they’re from one of those two years. The Sandberg and Lopes plates have residue on the back from where they were affixed over the players’ lockers. The Dayett plate has a piece of cardboard on the back indicating that it rested on the top shelf of the locker rather than being affixed overhead.

I don’t have a COA. These are from the collection of a close friend of mine who passed away. I’m selling these on behalf of his widow. My friend accumulated a massive collection of game-used and original items that he acquired directly from the team and the players. He started doing so in the early 1980s, and continued collecting Cubs memorabilia throughout his life. I’ve scoured the internet in an effort to find photos of the players’ lockers from those 2 years without success. If you find something I can add to this listing as documentation, please let me know.

This is a rare piece of Chicago Cubs history, including 4x All-Star Davey Lopes and legendary Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg.
