2013 Mini Cooper S 1.6 Petrol Turbo JCW
1.6 petrol turbocharged N18 engine (the better version of this engine)
192,500 miles… yes this is not a misprint. It’s a high mileage hero that has been meticulously maintained over and above manufacturers recommendations. There are 50+ invoices for parts. It was serviced at the main dealer until 100k miles, whilst also being serviced inbetween by the 2nd owner who put the majority of miles on it with commuting backwards and forwards to France & Jersey. It has 2 service books, one for the services inbetween and one by the main dealer. The mileage is testament to what decent servicing does for an engine.
3 owner car, HPI clear, both keys & bookpacks
Just been serviced using Liqui Moly oil and a mahle oil filter, done around 50 miles since!
My wife’s car, she has done around 12k miles in it since last year when we bought it as a little run around. It just doesn’t get used much anymore due to other vehicles so thought we would see if anyone wants to put some more miles on it.

Non standard bits to make the car a bit better:
Full Koni Active gas shock absorbers, the best you car buy for these mini’s. They are over £800+ new and are only 2 years old. They stiffen automatically when driven enthusiastically but adjust to soft when driven normally. Really good bit of kit!
Eibach 30mm lowering springs, £200+ new. A decent brand spring that is great paired with the above shocks. Not to bumpy or firm and makes the car look good.
Genuine GP diffuser kit with under tray, this isn’t just the bumper piece that most people just buy, it’s the complete thing that goes under the rear wishbones a bit like a F1 car. This was £500 new.
Finally, powerflex engine mounts. These do create a bit of vibration when setting off due to increased NVH, the lower dogbone mount was £200 alone. I do have a standard one that comes with the car though incase it is a bit to much nvh for the new owner.
Bodywork condition:
Apart from a few stone chips which should be expected at this mileage, it’s great!. No dents or damage, just the odd imperfection that goes in line with its age and mileage. As the paperwork shows this car has been very much loved by all its owners including us!
If I were to be fussy, the wheels are a bit faded and if wanting to look like new a refurb wouldn’t go a miss but still presentable as they are!
Mechanical condition:
Starts, runs, stops and drives great. A typical mini, had a few over the years. They are not the quietest and smoothest of cars but are great fun. Occasionally the engine light comes on due to boost deviation fault code, this is due to a worn wastegate actuator which is quite a common issue on these engines. The car comes with a spare complete turbocharger off a 60k mile car. Changing this will fix the fault. There is no limp mode or change in drive though, apart from the light coming on every now and then you wouldn’t know!
Other than the above there are no issues. The engine is smooth and quiet and ticks over nicely and generally runs great. No timing chain noise or issues at all. The timing chain and tensioner was done at around 160k miles and is documented in the history.
The clutch and flywheel have done 40k miles and cost £1700 for parts and labour with receipt to back it up!.
It’s had fuel pump, every receipt for servicing present. Bushes, links, arms, waterpump, alternator and all sorts over the years. This is why we bought it as it was quite interesting to see one with such high miles that runs and drives as well as it does.
It is getting ready for 2 tyres on the front though but they are not expensive to do.
Interior condition:
Inside it’s great, hardly any wear to anything and clearly not been smoked in as no foul smells. It has genuine Cooper S rubber floor mats, boot liner and first aid kit. It also will come with the mini Haynes manual that’s in the boot. The second owner let that go with the car so it will follow on with the new owner. Nothing broken or damaged, is fitted with cruise control, JCW steering wheel etc and is generally a nice place to be.
Overall summery:
You wouldn’t be able to tell the difference to a 50k miles car or this one, the engine sounds no different, it drives no different and to be honest it’s had all the bits that a 50k miles car wouldn’t of had like clutch, flywheel, chain and fuel pump. This is a testament of how decent servicing keeps an engine alive. Due to its JCW spec, shocks and decent bits that are on it along with its history file, I think I’ve priced it fairly especially when the car in parts alone are worth probably double what I’m asking for it. I’m in no rush to sell it though so please be sensible.
Any questions please ask.
Strictly no timewasters or idiots/low ballers.
